Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of the people in our communities.

The Health Foundation is an assembly of dedicated leaders engaged in inspiring actions to improve the health and well-being of the people in our communities.

Our vision includes, without limitation, the following:

Community Partnership.

We match donor resources of those who share a common desire to achieve and maintain good health with community needs.

We are dedicated to working with all who care to strive for excellence.

We believe that everyone deserves quality, available health care.

Education.

The Health Foundation, Inc. supports health and wellness educational opportunities for those in our community.

We enthusiastically promote programs that develop a compassionate work force possessing the education and training necessary to provide vital, professional services.

Donor Rights.

The Health Foundation recognizes that stewardship means to manage, protect, and serve on behalf of another’s trust.

We seek, in all ways, to inspire the donor’s full confidence in our actions.

Further, we encourage our membership to take an active volunteer role in our programs and services.

We are philanthropists—“Lovers of Mankind.”  Board members and staff alike serve this organization because of a core belief and passion for our mission and its benefit to mankind.

We are responsible to our organization, to our mission, and to our community. Each member of the board of directors of The Health Foundation takes seriously their responsibilities as a steward of the public trust.  Each incoming board member signs a Statement of Understanding  outlining the responsibilities of the trustee.

We are respectful of one another, and recognize each other as peers.  We value each other’s opinions. We recognize our individual responsibilities to the group and honor our commitments. We recognize the importance of service to one another. We further recognize we are part of a larger community. We accept the will of the group and agree to support its decisions.

We are honest. We freely share our thoughts, concerns, and opinions with one another and encourage diversity in thinking by listening. Board members sign a Conflict of Interest Statement, a promise to disclose any mitigating factors influencing a board member’s manner of acting.

We are leaders. We recognize that in order to achieve lofty goals we must inspire action, be responsive to change, and embrace challenges.

We are compassionate.  We care about those we serve and are sensitive and empathetic to their pain and distress.

We are grateful. The heart of the Health Foundation is its donors and volunteers, who make it possible to fulfill our mission.  In recognition of this, The Board of Directors adopts A Donor Bill of Rights to outline its responsibility to our donors.
